Family profiles

Adding a family member

  1. Settings → Family Members → + (Mac: ⇧ ⌘ N).
  2. Enter First Name and Birthday.
  3. Turn on Dependent / Child if needed.
  4. Optionally add a photo, Annual Income, and Pop of Color, then Save.

To delete someone, first reassign accounts only they own.

Primary vs. dependents

Primary profiles are for you and your partner or spouse, up to two. An account owned by both shows as Joint.

Dependents are kids or anyone else you save for, like a 529 or custodial account. Up to 15 profiles total.

Retirement Age and Savings Age

Each primary profile has a Retirement Age, and each dependent has a Savings Age. In projections, an account’s monthly contributions stop at its owner’s age, then the balance keeps growing on its own. Joint accounts use the later of the two.

Filter by person

Tap the profile picture (top right) to choose whose accounts, charts, and lists you see.

Family name

  1. Settings → Family Members → ••• (top right) → Family Name.
  2. Enter your last name, like “Smith”, and tap Save.

Settings and the family page then show Smith Family instead of Family Members. When you set up a new device with Returning User, you’re welcomed back by name. It’s optional; leave it blank to remove it.

Personalize

  • Pop of Color: each person’s theme color. While their profile is selected, it tints buttons, highlights, and other accents across the app. With several people selected, the first one in your family member order sets the color.
  • Group By → Owner: in the ••• menu on Accounts, Goals, and Records
