Account projections
Each account is projected month by month from its balance, rate, and contributions, out to the latest Retirement Age among primary profiles. All your projected accounts then add up to your net worth projection.
Inputs
- Assets: Expected Return and Monthly Contribution
- Liabilities: Loan Rate (APR) and Monthly Payment
Choosing which accounts to project
Include In Projections is on for new accounts. To change it, open the account → Edit → Include In Projections.
Turn it off for money you spend rather than grow. A checking account pays your day-to-day bills, so it isn’t really part of your long-term wealth the way a retirement or savings account is. Projecting it would assume that balance keeps growing for decades.
Excluded accounts still count toward today’s net worth. They’re just left out of projected balances.
Growth and Payoff Calculator
Open an account, tap its projection chart, then tap Calculator (top right). Assets open the Growth Calculator and liabilities the Payoff Calculator.
Try a different return, contribution, payment, or retirement age and compare it to your current projection. Tap Close to discard, or Save to apply the changes. A new retirement age applies to all accounts.
Growing contributions
The slider under Monthly Contribution sets a yearly change: Annual Change with inflation off, ± vs. Inflation with it on. Leave it at 0% unless you expect contributions to grow.
Partners and dependents
- Joint accounts: contributions continue until the last primary profile retires.
- Individual accounts: contributions stop at the owner’s retirement, but growth continues.
- Dependents use their own Savings Age.
